Modern Living 55th Anniversary Exhibition "55 Houses - Houses of the West, Houses of the East"

Matsuya Design Gallery
Finished
This exhibition will introduce the works of 55 architects working in Japan and abroad. The aim is to shorten the often large distance between architects and ordinary citizens by taking up examples of individual homes that the architects have designed. The public nature of the venue will also allow viewers to have a close look at the architects' work that includes models, photographs, plans and design data. Kengo Kuma will head the curation and site design. The exhibition will be divided into two parts, each two weeks long. Overall, 55 works will be on display. A magazine entitled "File of 55 Architects" featuring all participating architects' works will also be available to purchase.
