This exhibition is a part of Diesel Japan's Art Support Project, which inherits what Diesel has done in London and New York so far. Tsukuda Hiroki was chosen as the first support artist in Japan.

Hiroki Tsukuda is a young artist currently living in Tokyo, who was born in Kagawa in 1978, and graduated from the Department of Imaging Arts and Sciences of Musashino Art University. A number of his works have been presented mainly in commercial creative fields such as in fashion and record jacket design. These works attract a lot of attention, mainly among the younger generation, which is conscious of Robot animations, SF movies and SF comics that fueled a craze in the 1970s and 1980s.

In this exhibition titled "Doctrine," Tsukuda will exhibit a large 2 dimensional installation work, projected image, and some sculptural works. These are all Tsukuda's new works and in particular the installation work, which utilizes OHP and canvas, marks a new venture by Tsukuda, who tries to capture human's visual perception.

Tsukuda comments on this exhibition: "I think that the exploration of art is closely related to the attitude of a religion that quests for the truth. There are a number of justices in this world but much the same is true of the concept of beauty. If so, there seems no such 'doctrine of beauty.' What on earth is the universal beauty? I have continued to cast doubt on it."
