The mid 1950s to mid 1970s were defined by heroes and heroines from the sporting, acting, singing and political fields - perhaps it was the last era in which the Japanese were able to share their love of their heroes and heroines with each other. Following on from the first part of this four-part exhibition, this display will consist of portraiture that captures the energy of the period, taken from the museum collection.
