Kayo Sato "Tonikaku - Horns on Rabbits"

Paul Smith Space Gallery
Finished

Artists

Kayo Sato
This artist, known for her sculptural works using old stuffed animals and fabric, takes the theme of "rabbit" for this exhibition. The common pronunciation for the Japanese characters in the title of this exhibition spell out "tonikaku" (at any rate), but can also be read and interpreted as "Usagi-ni-tsuno" (horns on rabbits). The works are inspired from Paul Smith's lucky animal, the rabbit as well as the literal "tonikaku." Works with a dreamy sense of "ennui" expressing the vagueness characterized by the word "tonikaku" and the strength and weaknesses embodied in horned rabbits will be on display. Original goods will also be on sale.
