Meguro Museum of Art regularly holds exhibitions of artists who have strong connections to Meguro Ward, but has yet to have an exhibition featuring work by young Meguro artists. This exhibition features paintings, sculptures, photography and film works by 7 up-and-coming artists born in the 1970s who either live, work or have gone to school in Meguro Ward. There was no particular theme designated, but the artists had to have a connection with Meguro Ward, be active as an artist, and either have sought their own expressive style or independently explored paths to develop one's style through interaction with the west. The last criteria is one of the museum's collection guidelines as well. The exhibition space will be divided into 7 spaces so that viewers have the time and space to experience each artist's work.
