"And Yet Men Cross Over the 'Boundary' " Exhibition

Nerima Art Museum
Finished
Works on display in this exhibition have been chosen from over 300 works in the Kuniaki and Katsuko Ueda Contemporary Art Collection. Approximately 70 Nihonga (Japanese style painting) and contemporary art works will be on display. Having viewed their artistic domains with skepticism, the 19 artists have all striven to go beyond the existing boundaries of "art" and sought out creative dynamism and ways of expression that truly move people's souls. This is the first comprehensive exhibition that displays the "Sanbi Shosha" Ueda Collection that continues to praise and give courage to such artists. The exhibition surveys new movements in art from the end of the nineteenth century to modernity through the couple's collection that spans half a lifetime.
