"A Selection of Japanese Documentary Film: Arts on Screen" Film Screening

National Film Archive of Japan
Finished
The National Film Center has been working on archiving not only theatrical films, but also documentary films and journalistic films for cultural preservation.

Especially in the recent screening series entitled "Glimpses of Nippon: A Japanese Documentary Tradition," the Center highlighted film producers and directors to give an overview of the history of Japanese documentary film. This time, the film center has selected documentary films from their collections, to give a different viewpoint on the field.

"Art" is the main theme of the first series of this screening project. A total of 27 documentary films which deal with art, craft, traditional fine arts, and film are on view.

Please refer to the film center's website for more details and screening schedules.
