Masayoshi Nakamura + Rouault Exhibition

Shinobazu Gallery
Finished

Artists

Masayoshi Nakamura, Rouault
Going beyond what was categorized as Japanese painting, Masayoshi Nakamura (1924-1977) was a charismatic figure among art lovers, peers and critics. He used fluorescent paints and oil paints to create a series of "face" paintings. This exhibition attempts to create a new conversation between Nakamura's painting "Face and Buddha Painting" and Rouault's "Series of Misère".
