Moise Kisling (1891-1953) is one of the representative artists of the Ecole de Paris. Born in Poland, he studied art at a school in Krakow and leaves for Paris on the recommendation of a mentor. Socializing came naturally to him, and he became a central figure among the Ecole de Paris artists as he communed with artists such as Modigliani, Picasso, Braque, Leonard Foujita, Pascin, and others. He had many friends among poets such as Jean Cocteau, André Salmon, Max Jacob and called the "price of Montparnasse." During World War I he joined the French foreign legion and obtained French citizenship as a result of his wartime feats. Although he fled to America for some time, he returned to France and passed away at his vacation home in Sanary in southern France.

Kisling left numerous melancholy and sensual portraits of attractive women based on models such as 'Kiki' of Montparnasse. In addition, he painted many still lifes, portraits, paintings of flowers, nude females and sceneries with masterful brilliant texture and coloring. This large-scale retrospective will be the first in 15 years since the exhibition celebrating 100 years since his birth and will feature 60 oil paintings mainly from the Le Petit Palais in Geneva, Switzerland.
