Finished

Artists

Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Vik Muniz, Marina Kappos, David LaChapelle et al.
Pop Art is an art historical movement rooted in the idea of "popular art," or in other words, "art for the public." In the 1960s U.S., Pop Art became popular, literally incorporating concepts of advertisements, comic books, and movies into art. In this contemporary art world too, the concept of Pop Art has often been revisited by artists who work with images, borrowing them from mass culture or sometimes taking already existing images and appropriating them using computer graphic and photographic methods.

This exhibition includes 131 works by a total of 43 artists, including the 1960s Pop Art stars Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol, 1980s idol Keith Haring, and contemporary artists Vik Muniz, Marina Kappos, David LaChapelle and many others, allowing this exhibition to show a cross section of the postwar American art scene.
