Having been told, "It is no longer the postwar era," Japanese people had reached the period of rapid growth. On the one hand their lives were characterized by the gaiety of modernization, but on the other the dark shadows of the Cold War, security and pollution crept in. Photographers' viewpoints transformed from expressions of realism to expressions of subjectivity. Photographs from this transitional period will be on display in this third part of the Showa exhibition.

Schedule	Aug 25 (Sat) 2007-Oct 14 (Sun) 2007  Opening Hours Information Hours 10:00-18:00 Closes at 20:00 on Thursdays and Fridays. Closed Monday Open on a public holiday Monday but closed on the following day. Closed during the New Years holidays.
Fee	Adults ¥500, University Students ¥400, Junior High School and High School Students and Over 65s ¥250, Elementary School Students and disabled visitors Free; Over 65s have free entry on the 3rd Wednesday of every month
