Media: Calligraphy, Art Talk

This is an exhibition of the major works of the calligrapher Gochiku Nakabayashi (1827-1913) from Ogi in Saga Prefecture. The calligrapher, whose works influenced such artists as Sokai Fukushima, gained attention early on as an artist with a contemporary style. He himself said that his works would truly be understood 100 years later. This exhibition explores the true value of his works, 180 years after his birth.
