This exhibition on Fabrica, Benetton Group's experimental communication research center, was first organized by the Pompidou Center in Paris in October 2006. Since then, it has traveled to Milan's La Triennale de Milan in July 2007 and to China's Shanghai Art Museum in October the same year. This exhibition that has been in the spotlight abroad has made its way to Japan and will be held at Shiodomeitalia.
The most important projects realized at Fabrica will be on display in this exhibition from various viewpoints. Works comprise a documentary project by magazine "Colors" and associated reportage and experimental projects (video, visual communication and interactive installations).
Fabrica was established in 1994 by Luciano Benetton and Oliviero Toscani to connect "culture" and "business," and Fabrica's experimental activities are taking place in over 100 countries around the world. Activities are based out of a restored historic building compound (under Tadao Ando direction) near Treviso, Italy. This site and guidance is also made available to young artists for one year to realize their projects in the fields of graphics, film, industrial design, publishing, new media, photography and music.
