This exhibition, first held at Insa-Dong Kyung-In Museum of Fine Art in August 2007, is traveling to Japan. The relationship between Japan and Korea has always been complex given the political and historical background of both countries. Recently though, the two countries have drawn closer, allowing for more cultural interaction. With such circumstances in mind, this exhibition takes a close look at the relation between the two countries through the works of young artists. The aim of this exhibition also addresses the fact that recently, many young artists from both countries are making works about their own identity. This exhibition encourages them to create works that acknowledge the larger political context in order to extend themselves further. Many of the participating Korean artists will be present at the symposium for discussion.
