Born in 1963 in Shiga, Shigeru Hasegawa completed the graduate program of Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music in 1988 and moved to Germany in 1989. Later on, he attended De Ateliers, an independent artists' institute in Amsterdam which the famous painter Marlene Dumas also attended. He went back and forth between Japan and Europe until 2004. Recently he has been exhibiting mainly in Tokyo and Nagoya. This exhibition includes his new works featuring multiple fruits as motifs, and paintings that incorporate fabric.
