"Contemporary Pop-up Books" Exhibition

Pop-up books contain various surprises: pictures pop up as the reader opens the book, or images move as one pulls the tab. These books are filled with interactive aspects that are heartwarming and pleasing to the eye. This exhibition introduces books from university professor Mr. Sakuma's collection: a total number of 104 books published between the 1930s and 1990s in Japan and the U.S.

18 minute walk from Takanodai Station on the Seibu Kokubunji line; From the North exit of Kokubunji Station, take the Seibu bus for 20 minutes and get off at Musashino Bijutsu Daigaku Main Gate; From the North exit of Tachikawa Station on the JR Chuo line, take the Tachikawa bus for 25 minutes and get off at Musashino Bijutsu Daigaku.
