In November 2006, Tokyo Wonder Site (TWS) established residency facilities in Aoyama with the aim of facilitating work by artists-in-residence. Activities of Tokyo’s newest art platform have, as of this year, expanded further to encompass three locations: Hongo, Shibuya and Aoyama. The culmination of work produced by artist residents at TWS Aoyama between spring and summer this year is presented at this exhibition at TWS Shibuya. The artists: a young American artist, Marina Kappos, who was resident on the Cultural Residency Program; the Korean art group, JNP Production, resident through the Emerging Artist Support Residency Program. TWS welcomes the opportunity to introduce work produced by these extremely talented young artists representing the contemporary art scenes of North America and Asia.

Marina Kappos has produced landscape work and research in New York, Los Angeles, London and other locations where her work has been exhibited. The installation created by Kappos for this exhibition captures aspects of Tokyo on vertical canvasses from her own personalized perspective, while at the same time placing the appearance of her own existence within these images. JNP Production, an artist group consists of Jo Seub, Noh Jae-Oon, and Park Chan-Kyong. They exhibited their work "It’s Clear" in The 6th Gwangju Biennale 2006, which they produced in TWS Aoyama, Shanghai and Seoul. In this exhibition they will show a further development on their work "It’s Clear", a work entitled "It’s Clear and Extra".

There will also be a work shown by Bosco Sodi, a Mexican artist operating out of Barcelona, who participated through the Exchange Residency Program. Bringing their own perspective and expressions from their backgrounds, artists are infiltrating their new experience of living in Tokyo.
