Crust and Dirt (Oliver Halsman Rosenberg, Clint Taniguchi)
From May 13th to June 9th 2007, the art duo ‘Crust and Dirt’ will touch down in Tokyo. This pair will be bringing their science-fiction art to Japan through an exhibition titled "Inter-dimension Trading Table" at the Nakaochiai Gallery and a live performance of their "Instant Drawing Machine" at the Apple store in Shibuya.

Crust and Dirt are the alter-egos of artists Oliver Halsman Rosenberg and Clint Taniguchi and transform the pair into what have been variously called ‘time travelers’, ‘manifesting spirits’, and ‘quasi-mystical forces’.

Crust and Dirt will show ‘goods’ at the Nakaochiai Gallery from May 20th to June 9th. These pieces will be the product of a ‘trading expedition’ with beings from another dimension. Crust and Dirt will journey to X, a spot known for its secluded and natural surroundings, laden with everyday goods from our urban centers (toilet paper, beer, cigarettes, sneakers, and the like). They will thus carry out this secret rendezvous to barter these everyday items for inter-dimensional goods brought to the trading table by these other beings.

‘Goods’ brought back from this journey will be available for observation and acquisition at Nakaochiai Gallery for a short time only. Indeed, a once in a lifetime opportunity.
