Itabashi Art Museum
Finished

Artists

Bruno Munari
Bruno Munari (1907-1998) was active in various fields such as painting, design and art education. This exhibition centers around "books" with which Munari was involved throughout his entire life, and aims to trace the development of his thoughts through their categorization and display.

In addition to Munari's books, there will be futurist paintings and sketches, original drawings for illustrated books and films that have almost never been introduced in Japan. Munari's interaction with Japanese cultural figures and artists will be introduced also. At the beginning of the 10 corner, symbolistic works will be displayed in a cardboard display box created by Katsumi Komagata, who is a great admirer of Munari.

Munari valued flexible creativity and an unrestricted point of view. Many of his books have been revived this year, the 100th year of his birth. To celebrate this year, approximately 330 Munari works collected from Japan and Italy will be on display at this exhibition.
