"Eyes on the World" Exhibition

UN Gallery
Finished
The "Eyes on the World" exhibition taking place at the UN Gallery in Shibuya, Tokyo is held in commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Alexia Foundation for World Peace. The exhibition centers on the Alexia Competition's winning entries, and has made its way to Japan after being well-received at the UN Headquarters in New York last March.

The Alexia Foundation for World Peace is a non-profit foundation established in 1991 by the family of Alexia Tsairis who was a photojournalism student at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University when she became a victim of the terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. The competition is sponsored by the Newhouse School annually and grants are awarded to news photographers, both amateur and professional, presenting works that provide insights into foreign cultures and that communicate the voices of victims of social injustice. 80 student photographers and 11 professional photographers have received awards from the Foundation to date.
