Artists

Tatsuyuki Shimizu
This artist, who passed away suddenly in 2005 at the young age of 41, graduated from Tokyo Zokei University and worked as a graphic designer and picture book author. His advertisement works have been featured in "Pioneer" magazine and include the picture books "Important Promise - How Tears Fall" and "The Book of Thank You". Image processing was this artist's forte, and he also created black and white X-ray photographs and digital photographs of objects with suppressed color. He went to America in 2002 and upon his return started working on a project with photos of New York scenery. It seems that the artist was planning on editing and publishing this collection that would be entitled "Last Order." Unfortunately these works remained unpublicized due to an accident that ended his life. This exhibition is held to coincide with the third anniversary of his death this August and will feature selected works from the unreleased "Last Order" and approximately 50 other works.
