Taro Okamoto
"It is not about being foolish, you have to play, full-heartedly, or you are not having fun," said Okamoto (referenced in Toshiko Okamoto's "Playful Mind of Taro Okamoto"). That is how he lived his life and he devoted himself to being playful in his art as well.

Okamoto also often talked about children. He was often invited to be a juror for children's art competition. He said, "if I don't go, the real artworks get rejected, and only neatly finished ones get awarded." He advocated learning how to paint and draw from kids and put his entire energy in making artwork. Various works by Taro Okamoto, who had a childlike mind, are on display.
