Shinji Omaki
The Fuchu Art Museum invites artists to work in a studio space inside the museum. Viewers can see how artists make art, and talk about it. Please note that artists will not be at the museum everyday.

Shinji Omaki uses simple materials to transform spaces into his beautiful installations. The materiality and delicate colors of his materials spread out into the space, enveloping the ceiling and floor. He often uses patterns of flowers and waves that refer to the concepts of life and death.

This time, Omaki will set up a regular living room in the studio and then cover the furniture with powder to create a silent, still moment. Please feel free to talk to the artist during the creation of this piece.
