Tokyo Contemporary Art Fair 2007

Finished
Art markets are surprisingly buoyant internationally. Although traditional Japanese artworks are stagnant, contemporary artworks are priced at record prices at auction companies and art fairs around the world. Thanks to mass media, contemporary artworks have gained recognition among many people who do not belong to the art business.

Considering the current status quo in Japan, we have decided to hold a contemporary art fair called Tokyo Contemporary Art Fair 2007 (TCAF 2007). This fair focuses on young artists and we hope it will help Japanese artworks to meet global standards. The venue will be Tokyo Bijyutsu Club, which has been recognized as "the" art place for 100 years. The objective of the fair is to give young gallery owners, curators and artists the chance to get together and give the general public a platform to be exposed easily to art. We hope the fair will be a place where collectors and galleries alike can enjoy artworks. Around 40 galleries from around the world are scheduled to hold exhibitions.
