LeCorbusier
An architectural giant of the 20th century Le Corbusier (1887-1965) formed the basis of Modernism by introducing the new ideas and techniques. His iconic buildings, known for their novel and unconventional design, such as "Villa Savoye" or "Chapelle de Ronchamp" caused controversy in the architectural world during his lifetime, and are still very influential for today's architects.

However, the fact that Le Corbusier was a passionate painter is often overlooked. He advocated "Purism" painting with Ozenfant in 1920s and even until the end of his life he continued to spend hours in his atelier every day. For him, painting was not just a pastime but played a crucial role in his overall creativity. "A house is a machine to live in" was his famous statement. However his buildings often recall, beyond their functional aspect, a feeling of human warmth, which derives from the insight into human nature that he gained through his activity as a painter.

This exhibition gathers some 20 pieces of LeCorbusier's print works, including "Modulor", "Les Musiciennes" and others.
