"The Library 2007" Exhibition

Toki Art Space
Finished
Gallery Art Space has been holding the artist book exhibition "The Library" annually for 13 years since 1994. The gallery has collaborated with Kyoto's Gallery Sowaka since 1995, and this is the largest scale exhibition of its sort in Japan. Works for this exhibition are chosen from an open call for submissions, and as long as the size of the work does not exceed the regulations, any genre or material is allowed. Paintings, sculptures, 2D works, 3D works, objects, crafts, photographs, films, illustrations, design works and comics are laid out onto shelves or flatbeds to create an imaginary library of artist books. Viewers are allowed to hold the works in their hands also. Event curator: Seiji Shinohara.
