Artists

Fuku Fukumoto
This is an installation of white ceramic works. The beautiful white thinly stretched out forms are reminiscent of clouds, fog or pools of water. This artist has been critically acclaimed since winning the grand prize at the Asahi Craft Exhibition in 2001 soon after graduating from Kyoto City University of Arts. This exhibition commemorates the results of her recent training residencies in America and England.

Alongside her group exhibitions, the artist also creates installation works for solo exhibitions. One such installation entitled "Thin Ice" is a fine work of several hundred ceramic dishes lining a 4m square table; another, "Cloud Scene", loosely places large ceramic pots on a board cantilevered off of a shelf. She starts with basic ceramic motifs such as bowls, pots and dishes and allows awe inspiring gentle arcs to emerge. In this exhibition, multiple works will be hung from the ceiling to create a fantastical new installation.
