Artists

Koji Fukiya
Fukiya debuted as a standard-bearer of Taisho Romanticism and was at the top of the illustration world in the Showa Era. He was also the lyricist who wrote the words to the children's song "Bride Doll" when he was 25 years old and following his studies in Nihonga (Japanese style painting), he was active as a member of the École de Paris. His Jojoga (lyricist painting) show Japanese feeling and exoticism, and his heroines are intelligent with a hidden but deep sensuality. The artist created a unique beauty through the fusion of mutually contradictory senses.
