Venice, the city built on water that continues to attract visitors from all over the world, was once a thriving hub for eastern trade with a flourishing culture unique to the city. Marco Polo was a Venetian trader, and this city was also place where beauty from many lands crossed paths. In addition to art that grew out of Venice's own unparalleled abundant background, Byzantine and Islamic art, art from Flanders and northern Renaissance elements were absorbed into Italian Renaissance by Venetian artists and developed into even more glorious, gorgeous works.

This exhibition features 71 works by 40 artists that were active during the golden age of Venetian painting, from the height of the Renaissance period to the 18th century. Legends and religious works, fantastical landscapes, scenes from every day lives of Venetians will be displayed in three sections.
