"Design for Railroad - Past, Current, & Future" Exhibition

The University Art Museum - Tokyo University of the Arts
Finished
Needless to say, design is interconnected with society at large and it is a form of creativity that aims to help people lead a culturally fruitful life. With that in mind, the Department of Design at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts & Music has been presenting a series of exhibitions featuring companies and institutions with unique design culture.

This is the 2nd exhibition of the series, introducing the JR East Japan Railway Company. They actively support arts and culture through their gallery space in Tokyo Station and the Railway Museum, as well as organizing activities in each area where their railways run.

It has been 20 years since the privatization of JR East Japan Railway Company. The company has gone through many changes, including the opening of the museum and the remodeling of Tokyo Station. It would be a great opportunity to see their design concepts and agenda for students and general public to understand design closely.
