This event has ended.
At Promo Arte Latin American Gallery
Media: Fashion, Crafts

10 years have passed since Akiko Ban encountered contemporary jewelry in Italy. Her time in that country, where she met Lucia Massei, the head of the Alchmia school of contemporary jewelry, as well as the influence of her friends Claudia Cucchi, Yu-chun Chen and Gianpaolo Babetto has been an important source of strong stimulus in her attitudes towards making jewelry.

This exhibition presents four periods of artistic productivity: works from both her time at the Alchimia school and works made since she returned to Tokyo. As this is her first solo exhibition, her works from her student days are being shown for the first time.

The Jewelry of Moments

In my romantic, introspective reality, each and every moment is made up of a thousand thoughts; induced by senses firing synapses they recall memories that themselves, in turn, fill up the moment.
