"Nabeshima - Jewels of Porcelain, Beauty Created" Exhibition

Toguri Museum of Art
Finished
The Toguri Museum of Art opened on November 21, 1987. This year, to mark the 20th anniversary of the museum’s foundation, a series of commemorative exhibitions were held featuring selected masterpieces from the museum’s collection. The last of these exhibitions showcases the collection of Nabeshima.

Perfect form and fine pattern decorate the face. Nabeshima is not only a vessel, but a treasure created to present to the feudal lords of other fiefs and the imperial household. Early Nabeshima (second half of 17th century) works to those of the golden age (late 17th century-early 18th century) will be on exhibit from the museum's collection.
