This event has ended.

It has been a year since the last time Time & Style Existence (in Minami Aoyama) had an exhibition. For this exhibition, 10 pieces by Tadanao Suenaga are on display, including three recent pieces. He takes parts of manga imagery, or blown-up photographs, and recomposes them on canvas. Although his process shares points in common with the idea of Pop Art, which brings an ordinary ideas and scenes into art, Suenaga only goes through this process for the sake of making a connection between painting and everyday life. He avoids creating a representational image to depart from a conventional expression. This reveals the underlying conception of seeing, which is not necessarily expressing something, but documenting the process of copying and creating.
