Ceramicist Takahiro Kondo is an internationally exhibited artist and son of living national treasure Yuzo Kondo. This installation at Spiral aims to transcend the tradition of ceramic art. The "Mist" series is a group of tall "standing stones" made of ceramic and cast glass, which are installed in a symbolic, circular configuration in the main gallery space. The mysterious atmosphere is intensified by the surface of the ceramic pieces which are reminiscent of water drips, and the shiny surface of the glass. Two-dimensional pieces consisting of various materials with a metallic finish, and the "Oil" series created with charcoal oil are also displayed on a wall connected to the main space.
