This event has ended.

The Bratislava World Picture Book Original Drawing Exhibition is one of the world's largest competitions of its kind and has been held in Bratislava, capital of the Slovakia Republic biannually. The fact that it is a competition primarily for veteran illustrators distinguishes it from other well known competitions such as the Bologne competition. This is the third time the exhibition will be held at this venue, and 46 winning entries, 56 works by Japanese artists, and picture books from 43 countries will be introduced from the 20th Exhibition held in 2005. Among the illustrators featured are gran prix winner Ali Reza Goldouzian, Lilian Brøgger, and Korean artist Han Byoung-ho. In the latter half of the exhibition, works from Slovakia's neighbor, the Czech Republic, during the golden age of Czech children's books from the 1920s and 30s will be on display. Drawings and works by greats Josef Radha, Josef Capek, and Jiriho Trnky will be on display.
