Koto Blofo
Born in South Africa in 1959, Koto Blofo moved to England with his family at the age of four because of the political exile of his father, who worked as a history teacher. He learned graphic design at school, and later started his career as a photographer working for British Vogue and many major fashion magazines from 1983. In the 1990s, he started working with film and created a documentary film of a boy who makes a giant airplane in his home country South Africa, entitled "Sibusiso Mbhele and his Fish Helicopter". The film was screened at MoMA in NY and won many awards. Filled with happiness, his work is stylistically nostalgic and natural. This exhibition features his series of photographs titled "Swimming Pool", and still-life prints from his photography book "Air".
