This is the first exhibition to take an overview of Thai contemporary art. To celebrate the 120th year of Japan's establishment of good relations with Thailand, the museum is holding this exhibition in cooperation with the Thai Ministry of Culture and Contemporary Arts and Culture Agency.

This exhibition is the first to look at Thai's history of contemporary art, covering the period since Thailand started to experience rapid economic growth and take in a variety of influences from Japanese pop culture, up to the present day.

On display will be paintings, sculptures, mixed media works, video, installation, films, animations and music, making use of the entire basement exhibition space of the museum. Peformances by the artists are also planned.
