Ayako Mogi, Mie Morimoto
Photography, as a significant medium in contemporary art practice, is explored in so many different ways by artists today. This exhibition presents works by two female artists, Ayako Mogi and Mie Morimoto, both of them featured in various fields.
Mogi's works portray ordinary scenes and yet there is a sense of the unusual and surreal. They also seem to have subtle, poetic narratives: even in the photo of a flame, there is the sense of it being a peaceful moment.
In Emi Morimoto's work, her subjects are taken to an abstract level. This exhibition features her photographs of cars, abstracted through her way of seeing: the images are more like patterns that have been decoded through her visual sensations.
