"Louvre Museum Exhibition"
This event has ended.
At Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum
Media: Painting, Crafts
One of the most sophisticated cultures evolved in the 18th century French royal court. Madame de Pompadour and Marie Antoinette who appreciated beauty decorated the salon, and the Rococo style and Neoclassicism began. Specially ordered accessories and items were crafted with precious materials by highly skilled artisans. This exhibition introduces around 140 masterpieces selected from the collections of the Louvre Museum. The highlights are the gorgeous items that strongly reflect the aesthetic of Madame de Pompadour and Marie Antoinette.
