28th "Hitotsubo" Exhibition

Guardian Garden
Finished
Ten exhibitors whose portfolios have passed the first screening will each be exhibiting in a "hitotsubo" space, a Japanese measurement for a space of 3.3m squared (1.82m x 1.82m). The first place winner chosen during this exhibition period will be given an opportunity to have a solo exhibition at the Guardian Garden in one year.

Some of the original works that will be on display are: a work that attempts to portray the world of "bonsai" usually expressed in small containers with lines on canvas, a surreal world of children playing created by cutting and pasting felt and color paper, and copperplate prints that draw detailed insect corpses in an attempt to express the cycle of transmigration through small insects.

A grand prize winner will be decided on at the second stage of judging, after a presentation from each artist and a debate by five judges.
