"Heinz Tesar - Architecture of Layers" Exhibition

Heinz Tesar
This exhibition introduces the works of Vienna-based architect Heinz Tesar who is known in Europe and America as the "poet of architecture." The title of this exhibition expresses the idea that this architect's works are formed by the poetic dialog that is born from the analysis and reinterpretation of the urban context. The underlying supposition in his works is that they will become another spatial layer in the poetic dialog of the city's tradition and culture, upon which other layers will be overlapped one day. His works include many alterations and additions to historic and public buildings, and among them the Bodemuseum renovation project in Berlin has been in the spotlight recently. Tesar curated this exhibition himself, and 9 representative works and his newest project will be introduced through sketches, watercolor paintings, and large-scale wooden models.
