"Claude Monet: L'art de Monet et sa Posterité"

The National Art Center, Tokyo
Finished

Artists

Claude Monet et al.
Claude Monet (1840-1926) is one of the most popular painters in Japan, not to mention around the world. As a result of the popularity of his work, his paintings are often among a museum's main attractions and museum-goers frequently rank Monet exhibitions highly among their wishlists for exhibitions in polls.

This exhibition was planned in commemoration of the opening of The National Art Center in January this year. Beginning with Monet's masterpieces from the Musée d'Orsay, almost 100 works from major domestic and international collections such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston will be on display in this large-scale exhibition. In addition, approximately 20 works by Monet's "successors" who were known to have been influenced by the artist will be on display.

Please see the event website for details on related events (Japanese only).
