Born in Shizuoka prefecture, this artist moved to Siberia after graduating from art school and has been working in Europe since. His wife Christine Gossler whom he met in 1978 took her own life 7 years after they met, leaving him and their child behind. This exhibition displays photographs of his wife that are a vivid record of the changes that she went through as she slowly succumbed to her mental illness. The progressive transformation has led to new discoveries for the artist, who once thought that the death of his wife would lead to the end of his life as an artist.
