"Boathouse - Local Landscape and Form" Exhibition

LIXIL Gallery 1 & 2
Finished
Boathouses have one use, to house boats, but their forms and shapes are diverse. Some are simple, and some are fancy enough to house people. A variety of anthropological details such as local climate, geography, construction materials, work style, sense of community, can all be seen in these structures. Boathouses have been chosen from 11 different locations in Japan, from Niigata to Shimane and will be introduced through photographs, panels, and models.
