"Children of Jaguar - Art of the Olmec" Exhibition

Taguchi Fine Art
Finished
Taguchi Fine Art is holding a series of exhibitions entitled "The Human Condition", introducing works that have evolved out of instinctive and original needs in various time periods and cultures. This first exhibition features the Olmec civilization, the origin of Central American Art.

The Olmec civilization flourished around the Gulf of Mexico bay area for 1250 years since 1250 and is the oldest civilization of Mesoamerica. Through trade, the sophisticated culture of the Olmec had a huge influence on the surrounding area, developing unique cultures specific to each of the areas.

This exhibition introduces statues of mother goddesses made of terra cotta and jade, in addition to pots, tools and swords. This is a rare opportunity to get close to the art of the Olmec.
