Migiwa Tanaka
This award-winning artist has been attracting attention for her suibokuga ink paintings since graduating from Tokyo Geijutsu University. Her works depict natural landscapes in monochrome with simple abstract expression, thick water marks and powerful strokes. She gains her inspiration from the years she spent on Ishigakishima as a student. There, she lived as one with nature under the sky and by the ocean and fulfilled her childhood yearning for nature. New 170cm x 25cm hanging scroll type works and 10 other works will be on display in this exhibition.
