Since 1989, the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography has continued to collect outstanding works of photography produced in Japan and overseas. The collection contains approximately 23,000 works, covering a diverse range of styles that chart the history of photography. From 1999, with the exception of donations, the museum had to stop collecting works, but with the aid of the "Photography and Video Culture Support Association" organized by members of the museum, the collection process was restarted from 2004. This exhibition presents the photographs and other materials that were collected during 2005.
