Since winning the top prize at the Hitotsubo exhibition in 2001, Saori Tao has been working in a wide variety of magazine and advertising related fields, and is one of the most well-known young female photographers.
Perhaps there are many of you who know the photography book "Shutter & Love", a compilation of work by 10 female photographers with Aoi Miyazaki on the cover.
Tao takes "nature" and "the city" as her themes, expressing the social problems that we see on an everyday basis. For her latest work, she has focussed on the White Sands area of the United States, capturing the essence of the human beings who live in this vast natural landscape.
