Finished

Artists

Michiko Shoji
Human behavior is influenced by a wide variety of factors, from location and geography to more primal influences like sound, colors, and light. Identity develops through how we grow up, our relationships with others, our culture, and so on. Michiko Shoji is interested in the subconscious influences of the environment and social structure on our physical bodies and perceptions.

In this exhibition, Shoji presents her video work, which depicts pedestrian's legs shot from ground level as they walk through an urban environment. She created rhythmical music to the pace of the foot movements.
