Artists

Akira Yamaguchi
This artist is a young artist known as a pioneer in Japanese contemporary art for his free and imaginative works that have surpassed the borders of traditional painting genres and cultural barriers. His works incorporate traditional Yamato-e painting techniques and diverse subject matter from the eastern and western worlds, and his expert craftsmanship and unique style have drawn attention both in Japan and abroad.

This exhibition focuses on "musha-e" (warrior paintings) that he has painted since he was a student. Representative early works and new works with themes such as "mecha-warrior" and "bike-horse" will be on display, as well as illustrations and sketches.
